A British tourist has tragically died in bed next to his girlfriend after suffering a heart attack in their Menorca hotel.
The 37-year-old man began having difficulty breathing in the early hours of Wednesday morning, before going into ‘irreversible cardiac arrest’, local media reported.
His girlfriend noticed his breathing difficulties and called the emergency services.
Paramedics went to the hotel in Arenal d’en Castell, but their attempts to resuscitate the man sadly failed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Subsequently, a forensic doctor from the Institute of Legal Medicine removed the body from the hotel in the Balearic Islands.

An autopsy is expected to take place on Thursday to officially determine the British man’s cause of death.
Arenal d’en Castell is a small town in the northeast of the Spanish island of Menorca, a popular holiday destination for many Britons.
