The temperatures are starting to drop, so for me, it’s time to eat something comforting.

Curling up with something tasty to eat or drink definitely feels better than going out in the cold.

And what is hibernation without some fun and interesting new entertainment to consume?

‘Right from the start’

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this new Netflix series ever since my book club read the Tembi Locke memoir it’s based on.

It tells the story of Amahle “Amy” Wheeler (played by Zoe Saldaña), who falls in love with a Sicilian chef while on a study abroad program in Italy, so you know it’s a delightful story. But the couple faces some challenges due to their different cultural backgrounds and a battle with cancer.

Even though I know how it all ends, I’m looking forward to “From Scratch,” which airs now.

‘The school of good and evil’

Could it be magical?

In this modern fairy tale, based on the young adult novel by Soman Chainani, two best friends face off at a haunted school where young heroes and villains are trained to protect the balance of good and evil.

The film is worth it only because of Charlize Theron, who plays the head of the School for Evil, and Kerry Washington, whose character oversees the School for Good, though I don’t think I ever envisioned either of them in a project like this. (Other notable faculty members include Michelle Yeoh and Laurence Fishburne.)

“School for Good and Evil” is in select theaters and streaming on Netflix.

‘Chrissy’s court’

Model, food expert, DJ and judge. Is there anything Chrissy Teigen can’t do?

You just have to ride along with this small claims comedy show, in which Teigen rules real-life feuds. There are many arbitration programs out there, but this is definitely a court of its own.

“Chrissy’s Court” Season 3 kicks off and is streaming now on Roku.

Taylor Swift performs during the NSAI Nashville Songwriter Awards at the Ryman Auditorium on September 20 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Taylor Swift’s new music is always cause for celebration and usually a lot of lyrical detective work.

But this time, we won’t have to guess so much what Swift’s songs are about; she has been sharing the stories behind some of the tracks from her new album, “Midnights”, on social media.

These teasers have even included the “Midnight Manifesto,” which offers an inside look at a week in Swift’s life and the timeline around the album’s release. We could get used to being pampered like this, Tay!

“Midnights” is now available.

Meghan Trainor attends the Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10, 2019.

Meghan Trainor’s life has changed quite a bit since her smash hit “All About That Bass” came out in 2014.

The singer gave birth to her first child with husband Daryl Sabara in 2021. She recently told People magazine that she suffered a “traumatic” C-section and detailed a health issue she and Sabara later faced with their sleeping habits. newborn.

Trainor also told EW that he channeled it all into his new album, “Takin’ It Back.”

“On previous albums, there was a simple love song or an ‘I’m going to be confident today’ song,” he said. “These songs are like, ‘All of you, I’m fighting. This is real, but we’re all in this together. Who’s with me?’ It’s just more real and raw.”

“Takin’ It Back” is also available now.

Can people stop pitting Selena Gomez against Hailey Bieber?

The pair were photographed looking like best friends at a gala party at the Academy of Motion Picture Museum in Los Angeles last weekend and social media got jittery.

Fans of each woman have attacked the other on social media over the years. That’s because Gomez was infamously in an on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber before the singer started dating then-Hailey Baldwin. The last couple married in 2018.

Hailey Bieber recently attempted to put to rest speculation that she “stole” her husband from Gomez during a podcast appearance. Gomez, meanwhile, seemed to ask people to go easy on Ms. Bieber after the interview aired.

Let’s cross our fingers that their recent show of unity prevents people from feeling like they have to choose sides.

Selma Blair taught the world a valuable lesson this week.

The actress, who has multiple sclerosis, pulled out of this season of “Dancing With the Stars” after the competition became too much for her body.

While she did well on the long-running reality competition, I applaud Blair for showing that it’s okay to walk away from something that just isn’t working for you.

By prioritizing her health, even above participating in a show she clearly loved being a part of, Blair continues to set a great example. Sometimes it’s as brave to walk away as it is to show up.
