A British woman was found dead in Cyprus in the house she shared with her partner, and investigators have ordered an autopsy to shed light on the fatality.

The 38-year-old woman, who has not been named, is understood to have been found ‘with bruises all over her body’, according to local media.

The Cyprus Mail reported that the woman’s partner informed local authorities of the death.

He told police he found the woman when he returned home Wednesday afternoon.

They found her around 4:30pm at her apartment in Kato Paphos, western Cyprus, police said.

Investigators, including forensic officers, have collected evidence from the scene for scientific examination, Cyprus Police Chief Michalis Nikolaou said.

Cyprus Mail said initial examinations found the woman had bruises all over her body and periocular bruising (also known as a black eye) in both eyes.

His body was taken to the Nicosia General Hospital morgue, where an autopsy is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The researchers hope the results will shed light on how the woman died.

The Police continue with their investigations.
