Cristiano Ronaldo has unveiled a $220,000 watch showing the moment he scored a goal against Manchester United just hours after the club announced the couple were separating. Ronaldo has been on the periphery of the United team since Erik Ten Hag’s pre-season, despite him finishing the 2021/22 season as the team’s top scorer.

Then the soccer icon received backlash just days before the FIFA World Cup after he mocked Manchester United, their manager and the situation at the club. And in a statement issued overnight, Manchester United confirmed that they had reached an agreement with the 37-year-old to terminate his contract.

Ronaldo made 346 appearances for Manchester United in two different spells with the club, scoring 145 goals. And the bitter departure took a new turn after Ronaldo launched his new watch in partnership with Jacobs and Co.

However, it was the detail of the watch that surprised fans. The watch displayed a photo of Ronaldo scoring one of his famous headed goals. But the photo is from when Ronaldo played for Real Madrid and scored against Manchester United in the Champions League.

While the timing may have been a coincidence, it didn’t stop fans from fuming over the detail shortly after his sensational departure from the club.

Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United ended
