DH Hazard, drummer for the Dead Kennedys, dies at 63

Punk rock drummer DH Hazard, one of the pillars of the band The Dead Kennedys, has died. He was 63 years old.

Hazard, whose given name was Darren Henley, died Friday at his Los Angeles home, the band announced in an Instagram post.

“Police at the scene stated that he died of head trauma caused by an accidental fall,” according to the post, which said funeral arrangements would be announced “in the coming days.”

“We ask that you respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your thoughts and words of comfort,” the post read.

It’s unclear exactly what killed Hazard, according to TMZ, which reported that the drummer was found dead in the bathroom of his San Fernando Valley home and hit his head, but it’s unclear if the injury was fatal.
