A former porn star and ex-girlfriend of a Uruguayan international soccer player was reportedly caught at an airport with suitcases containing more than 14 pounds of cocaine.
Mia Etcheverria, who was once in a relationship with retired soccer player Richard Morales, has been identified as one of three women and two men arrested at Uruguay’s Carrasco International Airport after the discovery.
The 27-year-old model’s lawyer, Pablo Casas, assures that his client “did not know the contents of the suitcases.”
Etcheverria, whose real name is Camila Navarro, is from Las Piedras, in southern Uruguay, and was one of the main stars of the country’s adult channel, Divas TV.
He has two daughters with Morales, 48, nicknamed Chengue during his soccer career and represented his country as a center forward in the 2002 World Cup.
Following Etcheverria’s arrest, Morales has said he will pay legal fees and that his daughters are his priority.

Etcheverria was allegedly part of the group trying to board a flight to Madrid, Spain, when Uruguayan police intercepted them during a routine check on one of the men on June 24.
Agents discovered that her two suitcases had hidden compartments containing six slabs of a white, powdery substance with a total weight of 6.5 kilograms (14 pounds 5 ounces).
The police then separated the rest of their group: three women, ages 26, 27 and 36, and a 35-year-old man.
Four, including Etcheverria, are said to be in custody while police search for a sixth person in connection with the case.
In addition to the drug cache, two vehicles allegedly used to transport the group were identified, from which 900 euros and four mobile phones were seized.
The Uruguayan Ministry of the Interior said in a statement: ‘On the morning of Saturday June 24, staff from the Delegation of the Carrasco International Airport, belonging to the General Directorate for the Repression of Illicit Drug Traffic (DGRTID), carried out controls in the check-in area of a flight to Madrid when detecting a passenger with a possible risk profile.
‘After verifying his itinerary, a routine check of his luggage was requested, which the passenger authorized. He was escorted to the inspection room while the three women traveling with him remained in the check-in area.

‘Because of the above, the check-in area staff was notified, who escorted the women, who were Uruguayan citizens aged 26, 27 and 36, to another inspection room.

Subsequently, the detainees were placed at the disposal of Justice, identifying the possible perpetrator of the illegal activity, for whom an arrest warrant was requested.
The Justice opened a formal investigation regarding the passenger who carried the tablets in his suitcase “for his alleged participation in a crime defined in article 31 of Decree Law 14,294, in the modality of attempted export of narcotic drugs.”

‘For the first four people pre-trial detention was ordered, while the last woman was placed under full house arrest with an electronic monitoring device, all for a period of 90 days.
The investigation is ongoing.
