Ho-ho-wait a second.
Martha Stewart criticized Mariah Carey for rushing to celebrate Christmas before the Thanksgiving festivities took place.
“Mariah, you know me, I’m a traditionalist with a twist,” the 81-year-old lifestyle mogul said. In “Today’s Show” earlier this week.
“And you can’t give up Thanksgiving just because you don’t like turkey!”
Stewart added, “I love turkey, and many, many other people love turkey, so don’t think we’re going to give up Thanksgiving just because you say so.”
The “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” alum was likely upset that Carey, 52, posted a video to Instagram on Tuesday showing her going from Halloween to Christmas just one day after the spooky holiday.
The “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer first appeared in the clip dressed in a black latex catsuit and witch’s hat while riding a stationary bike, then changed into a festive red outfit as her iconic song Christmas sounded in the background.
“!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! publication.
Friends and fans commented enthusiastically, including Kerry Washington, who wrote, “The Queen of Christmas is HERE!” and Billy Eichner added: “This elf is ready! ❤️❤️❤️.”
However, after Stewart criticized the video, Carey was quick to explain that she never intended to write off the national holiday of gratitude.
“Dear Marta!! I will NEVER give up Thanksgiving!!” “We Belong Together” singer tweeted on Thursday “But we can still start getting into the holiday spirit now!”
Carey then proceeded to invite Stewart to her celebrations, adding, “? PS I would love to have you at my Thanksgiving dinner even though I haven’t been invited to your big Thanksgiving extravaganza yet! AND THAT IS IMPORTANT! Wait if Snoop is coming! ??”
Stewart has yet to say whether she plans to attend the Grammy winners’ party or extend an invitation in return.
