Meghan Markle was seen enjoying some retail therapy after she revealed she felt objectified by her role as the briefcase girl in “Deal or No Deal.”
The Duchess of Sussex wore a $595 green strapless jumpsuit from Malia Mills, which she paired with an olive green sweater, a $128 wide-brimmed panama hat from Cuyana, sunglasses and sandals. She completed the look with a braid.
The former royal, 41, was accompanied by a friend and the two seemed deep in conversation as they shopped for home goods at the Pierre La Fond gourmet food boutique in Montecito, California.
The pair of friends went to have lunch in nearby Santa Barbara.
Her exit comes a week after she admitted she quit her job on “Deal or No Deal” season 2 in 2006 because she felt she was being “reduced to a fool.”
Despite feeling “really grateful” to have a job that could pay her bills, she still felt the role had “little substance”.
“I ended up leaving the show. It was so much more than what was objectified on stage,” he said on the latest episode of his podcast, “Archetypes.”
Her disparaging comments about the game show drew criticism, including from fellow briefcase-wielders Claudia Jordan, who went on to star in “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and model Donna Feldman.
Even Whoopi Goldberg criticized Prince Harry’s wife saying she knew what she was getting into.
“When you’re an artist, you take the gig,” the 66-year-old talk show host explained on Wednesday’s episode of “The View.”
“Take the job. Sometimes you’re in a Bozo suit, sometimes you have a big nose, and that’s just the way it is.”
Goldberg continued: “We are not journalists. We are actors. We’re trying to get somewhere else.”
