Last weekend, Jennifer Aydin spilled her drink during some sort of altercation involving Joe Gorga.
It wasn’t exactly a secret. It happened in the hotel lobby at BravoCon. People saw it. We even have a GIF of that.
Initially, no one knew why. Many assumed that Jennifer was just defending Teresa Giudice.
That may have played a role, but Melissa Gorga admits Jennifer’s real motive was a bit more immediate.
We already knew that Jennifer Aydin and Joe Gorga had something of a heated showdown.
Apparently, not only did he throw his drink at his co-star, but he also threw his mug.
It was a cup, probably plastic, and not a glass. Usually these antics happen on the show, not behind the scenes like this.
Now, Melissa Gorga has opened up to her. Melissa Gorga on display podcast about what happened.
She kept things thinly veiled, but shared that fans told her, in person, at BravoCon that “another cast member” was “hitting her.”
Imagine hearing that one of your co-stars is dragging your name through the mud at the same event, to the same people who come to see you. And then you find out about them. Wow.
During one of the BravoCon panels, Jennifer announced to the crowd that Melissa and Joe’s future RHONJ was in jeopardy.
He claimed the pair are “holding on for dear life” with their reality TV careers on the verge of extinction.
On her podcast, Melissa clapped back: “First of all, stay in your lane. Second, I’m not sure what show you’re watching.”
According to Melissa, she and Joe were at the hotel chatting with cast members from family karma.
This, he recalled, was when Jennifer Aydin and her assistant entered the lobby.
Apparently, Jennifer looked at Melissa with a “sarcastic look on her face.” [her] eyes as he headed for the elevator.
It could have ended there.
But well-bred women seldom make the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
On her own account, Melissa said: “Keep moving wannabe. Come on, loser, keep walking. There’s the elevator.
According to Melissa, she herself did not “yell or yell.”
But he claimed that Jennifer had been “at a party before” arriving and that he “didn’t like” the comment.
Clearly, Melissa is implying that Jennifer had been drinking. Not scandalous, but it is what it is.
Melissa alleged that Jennifer began “yelling” and “yelling” and “cursing” in her direction.
She and Joe, Melissa said, were “still at the front door,” where they had been before Jennifer’s arrival.
“My assistant, someone I work with, comes up to me. [Aydin]. … He’s like, ‘You’re acting like trash. You can not do this. Go inside. Stop screaming. Why are you acting like trash? Get out of here,’” Melissa recalled.
“She freaked out that he said that, okay?” Melissa described.
“Joe is now watching her freak out, and Joe, and I have to say, I don’t think we give Joe enough credit,” she said of her husband.
Melissa then went on to acknowledge, “And he’s 100 percent wrong sometimes.”
“But he literally said, ‘I don’t even know what this dirty bitch is like on the show,’” Melissa quoted Joe.
“He said that out loud,” she admitted, “but he said it to the other people we were talking to.”
Melissa went on to confess, “Are you right? No, but she said that.
This is apparently when Jennifer spilled her drink, trapping Melissa’s assistant (and apparently Joe) in her liquid.
The drink was apparently spread “all over the lobby” and “all over the security guard” who works for the hotel.
“By the way, she should probably take care of the dry cleaning bill,” Melissa suggested.
According to her account, Jennifer found herself being “escorted” to her hotel room.
Melissa felt that Jennifer had caused a “scene” and ignited “a tension that is unnecessary at a celebration event.”
Looks like Jennifer wasn’t the only one to blame here. But she was clearly out of place. She just…wasn’t the only one.
