The luckiest driver in kyiv: Motorist is inches from death when a Russian missile hits the side of his car
- The incident occurred on Monday and occurred during a rare daytime attack in kyiv.
Dashcam footage captured the moment a motorist came inches from death when a Russian missile slammed into the road next to his car in the Ukrainian capital kyiv.
The incident occurred on Monday and occurred during a rare daytime attack in the city, with no injuries reported.
In the video, the missile lands in the middle of the road, narrowly missing two white cars.
It connects with an overhead wire that shows traffic signs and what appear to be traffic lights before it hits the road and explodes.
Fragments of the electronic device and the missile are thrown towards the camera, leaving it slightly smudged.

A small section of the road can then be seen on fire with black smoke billowing into the sky as vehicles continue to drive past as if nothing had happened.
The way the missile falls suggests it was intercepted by air defenses before it could reach its target, according to BBC News.
The fragments were later collected by police for further investigation.
The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence has warned of a swift response to a series of missile attacks in kyiv.
General Kyrylo Budanov said Monday’s attacks failed to intimidate people in the city, who simply went about their daily lives.
Authorities said all the missiles were shot down and there were no reports of casualties.

However, burning debris from the intercepted missiles fell on residential areas in central kyiv.
Monday’s attack followed two nights of heavy drone strikes, the latest of some 16 airstrikes on kyiv this month.
It was unusual in that it occurred during the day and appeared to be aimed at the city center, while other attacks in the capital in May were at night and targeted key infrastructure or air defenses on the outskirts.
General Budanov said his goal was to “upset” Russian supporters by letting them know that people in the city were not stopped by the attack and kept working afterwards.

“All those who tried to intimidate us, dreaming that it would have some effect, will regret it very soon,” he added in a statement released by the Ukrainian Intelligence Ministry.
Our response won’t be long.
On Sunday, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the nation’s air defense forces after the capital came under the biggest drone attack since the start of the invasion.
“You are heroes,” Zelensky said, after military commanders said most of the drones launched by Russia were intercepted.
