The New York Giants’ star left tackle Andrew Thomas has signed a new, record contract extension worth $117.5million.
The deal includes a $67m guarantee, sources confirmed to DailyMail.com. That is the highest ever figure for an offensive lineman.
‘I’m glad to be a part of the Giants for the next few years. I’m excited to get to work. Let’s do this thing,’ Thomas, 24, said after the team confirmed the deal on Wednesday morning.
The 6ft 5ins, 315lb Georgia product was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Last season, he emerged as one of the NFL’s best left tackles, helping the Giants finish fourth in the league in rushing.

‘I’m glad to be a part of the Giants for the next few years,’ the 24-year-old said Wednesday
The 24-year-old has spent some of this offseason putting on ‘Friday Night Lights’ football camps for young kids in Georgia, while he has previously supplied Christmas gift bags to families in need.
His new deal follows lucrative extensions for quarterback Daniel Jones and defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence.
Earlier this week, the Giants also finally ended their contract impasse with running back Saquon Barkley, who signed his franchise tag on Tuesday after failing to agree a long-term deal.
Barkley penned a one-year contract worth up to $11million, with a further $2m signing bonus.

Thomas, meanwhile, offered key protection for quarterback Jones, who enjoyed his best year to date in 2022 before committing his future to the Giants.
Jones became one of only four quarterbacks in NFL history with at least 3,200 passing yards, a 65.05 completion percentage, and 700 rushing yards in a single season.
Together, Jones and Thomas helped New York reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and record a first postseason win in 11 years.
Thomas, Jones, and Barkley were all elected team captains last year.
