Record label Migos says a ‘stray bullet’ killed rapper Takeoff

The record label of rap group Migos released a statement following the untimely death of member Takeoff.

“It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff,” Quality Control’s statement began.

“Senseless violence and a stray bullet have taken another life from this world and we are devastated.”

The label’s message concluded by asking for respect from the late rapper’s family and friends as they process their “monumental loss.”

Takeoff was shot and killed early Tuesday while at a bowling alley in Houston with fellow Migos rapper Quavo, who is also his uncle.

Houston police confirmed Takeoff’s death at age 28 at a news conference hours later, telling viewers they believe the suspects were guests at the private party attended by Takeoff and Quavo at 810 Billiards & Bowling Houston on Thursday. Monday night.

Sergeant Arrington, the lead detective on the case, also confirmed that there was a disagreement behind the fatal shooting. No reason for the argument was given, but he had previously been informed that he had to do with a game of dice.

Police also confirmed that the killer was still at large.

Sergeant Arrington also shared during the press conference that there were two other people who went to nearby hospitals to treat “non-life-threatening injuries.” They were a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman.

Before the press conference, images of the aftermath of the shooting appeared online all over Twitter. In the devastating video, Quavo could be seen trying to care for Takeoff, who was found dead and bloodied on the ground. Quavo then started screaming for help.
