Russian MP ‘wounded in Ukrainian attack’

A Russian parliamentarian and close ally of Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov is believed to have been injured in a recent Ukrainian artillery attack that a Russian colonel says was orchestrated by members of Russia’s own Wagner group led by Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Moscow sources denied Ukrainian reports that Adam Delimkhanov was killed, but admitted that the powerful Chechen figure was injured in the attack that took place in the Zaporizhzhia region of southern Ukraine.

In a dramatic departure from his typical hate-filled rants and ‘merciless’ approach to the war in Ukraine, a frantic Kadyrov appealed to Kiev forces for information on the whereabouts and condition of his right-hand man.

I myself cannot find Adam Delimkhanov in any way. He does not communicate, ”Kadyrov wrote on the Telegram messaging application.

“I ask Ukrainian intelligence to provide information on exactly where and what positions were attacked, so that I can still find my dear BROTHER. I promise you a generous reward and ask you to help me.

Earlier this week, Delimkhanov, 53, was in the Belgorod region to meet Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, organizing Chechen forces to reinforce the Russian border that has been battered by incursions by anti-Putin supporters.

But Ukrainian political scientist Kirill Sazonov, who fights in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said Delimkhanov’s all-terrain convoy came under fire during a visit to Primorsk, in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, and came under fire from Banderlog MTR group gunners.

Ukrainian political scientist Kirill Sazonov, who fights in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said Delimkhanov’s jeep convoy was attacked during a visit to Primorsk, in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region.

Sazonov claimed that the deputy and several of his associates were killed.

“Twelve helicopters arrived at the scene to remove the bodies secretly and immediately,” said Sazonov, who later published the coordinates of the alleged Ukrainian attack.

Lieutenant Colonel Roman Venevitin, former commander of Russia’s 72nd brigade, sensationally claimed that Delimkhanov was targeted after his location was leaked to “enemy intelligence” by pro-Putin Wagner mercenary troops led by Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Venevitin was recently disarmed and captured by members of the Wagner group after he allegedly fired at a Wagner vehicle, underscoring the tension between members of Russia’s regular army and Wagner’s mercenary units.

Prigozhin and Kadyrov were on good terms early in the war and agreed that Moscow’s forces needed to intensify their attacks on Ukraine, appealing to Putin to increase the intensity of Russia’s ‘special military operation’.

But the pair fell out recently after Prigozhin accused Kadyrov’s forces of failing to hold their positions in Donetsk. Kadyrov later shot back, calling Prigozhin “a blogger who screams and screams at the world.”

“Now they have taken revenge on Ramzan Kadyrov, who earlier threatened to reveal the sources of wealth of Prigozhin, who has been a supplier of food for our army since 2006,” Venevitin said.

‘Adam Delimkhanov, right-hand man to the Chechen president, is in critical condition after an artillery attack led by UkroNazis.’

A dozen helicopters were needed to repatriate the wounded and bodies, he said.

“Unfortunately, the losses are significant,” Venevitin concluded.

Delimkhanov represents Chechnya in the Russian parliament and was named a Hero of Russia by Putin, the country’s highest honor.

He is the closest ally and cousin of Kadyrov, who in turn is one of Putin’s main cheerleaders, supplying thousands of troops to the dictator’s illegal war in Ukraine.

Kadyrov said this week that he had instructed Delimkhanov to meet with the Belgorod governor after the failure of Russian troops to defend the border.

‘I am sure that given the high combat capability of the [Chechen] Zapad-Akhmat battalion, the goals set for the unit will be achieved without much effort,’ Kadyrov said.

Putin’s close ally Vyacheslav Volodin insisted in a statement to the Russian parliament that Adam Delimkhanov was alive and said he had spoken to him.

But he did not give more details about an alleged blow to the MP.

‘We have only now seen information about [Russian MP] Adam Delimkhanov, who is injured, [and] whether he is alive or not.

I just talked with him. He is alive…[and] wishes health to use all.’

The news was greeted with applause by Russian parliamentarians, but concern grew as Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “We receive this information with great concern, we are concerned, like everyone else, about the Hero of Russia.” .

“We hope that in the very near future there will be clear information about what happened,” suggesting that the Kremlin itself is unsure of Delimkhanov’s condition.
