A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped repeatedly by her neighbor in the city of Thane, Maharashtra, over a period of one month after she was given the keys to her house by her mother, who used to lock the girl up every day in home for safety before stepping on it. to work, police said Friday.

Both the victim and the accused live in the Daighar area of the city and the crime was committed from mid-December onwards, a police official said.
The girl filed a complaint on Thursday night, under which the police registered a first part of information (FIR) against the accused in the early hours of Friday.

Last month, the defendant sexually assaulted the victim for the first time when she came to him to change her clothes. He even threatened to kill her if she revealed it to anyone, he said.
After that, every time the victim’s mother went out to work after handing over the keys to the tailor, the tailor used to forcefully take the girl home and rape her. Because the girl was terrified, she did not reveal her ordeal to anyone, the complaint says, adding that on January 14, the victim managed to videotape the offense on her mobile phone without the defendant’s knowledge.
On January 19, when the tailor was dragging the victim home, an acquaintance of the girl came there and strongly opposed his act. The minor plucked up her courage and told the woman about her ordeal and she also showed her video.
The victim subsequently approached the police and filed the complaint. Police have registered a case against the defendant under sections 376(2)(n) (repeated rape of the same woman), 323 (willful causing harm), 506 (criminal intimidation) and Child Protection sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). of the Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO), police said.
