The Bikeriders Movie Will Star Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, and Tom Hardy
Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, and Jodie Comer are now part of the cast of the upcoming movie The Bikeriders. The movie will be written and directed by Jeff Nichols, whose first film Mud featured Matthew McConnaughey and helped launch the actor’s “McConaissaince” in the process. The taut drama in Nichols’ previous films, such as Midnight Special, Loving, and Take Shelter, often draws A-list actors like Jessica Chastain, Kirsten Dunst, Joel Edgerton, and frequently working partner Michael Shannon. The identities of Hardy, Butler, and Comer’s characters have not yet been revealed, but according to Deadline, The Bikeriders is an unique narrative based on a 1967 photographic book of the same name by Danny Lyon, a photographer who often submerged himself in the lives of his subjects. The motion picture will take place in the 1960s, with the emergence of a fictitious motorcycle club in the Midwest.Through the lives of the club’s members, the club’s growth over a decade will be shown as it transforms from a “meeting place for local outsiders into a more menacing gang, threatening the original group’s distinctive way of life.”These three outstanding talents are emerging from turbulent years. In addition to the last season of Killing Eve, Comer recently played in Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, for which she received a third Emmy nomination after already winning one. Butler is slated to portray the villain Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part 2, and has been garnering praise and award buzz since the release of his star act in Elvis. With a third Venom movie in the works, Hardy recently made a comeback in Peaky Blinders season 6 and reprised his role as Eddie Brock in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, one of the first post-pandemic successes. When The Bikeriders goes into production, these three of actors should have an abundance of star power to burn given each of their stellar filmographies in the drama genre.
