The Rock Movies: A List Of Upcoming Dwayne Johnson Films
What’s the next rung on the ladder after “movie star”? Because there is where we must categorise Dwayne Johnson. The dude isn’t simply going off at the movies. He’s got the explosion in a headlock, pile-driving it into the ground while cracking a joke, and then finishing us off with his 1,000-watt mega-smile. If we’re lucky, he’ll raise an eyebrow to remind us that we’re in The Rock’s universe. We’re just renting space for a short period of time.Given his celebrity, it should come as no surprise that a slew of Dwayne Johnson films are on the horizon, all of which look like they will keep the one-time wrestler and current big-screen sensation in the box office for years.Because we know you adore The Rock as much as we do, we’ve created this guide to keep track of all of the actor’s future projects – including ones that are still in production and will require a significant amount of work before they are ready to visit theatres. Which of these do you want to see the most?DC Super-Pet League (July 29, 2022) Dwayne Johnson is one of the few performers who can boast he has two forthcoming DC films coming out in the same year. The actor is reuniting with Kevin Hart (his co-star in the Central Intelligence and Jumanji films) to voice Superman’s dog, Krypto, and Batman’s dog, Ace, in DC League of Super-Pets, the second family feature from the animators behind 2020’s Scoob! The action-packed animated comedy, which hits theatres on Friday, July 29, also stars Diego Luna and Kate McKinnon as other domesticated animals with abilities with whom Krypto and Ace band up to rescue the day.Adam the Black (October 21, 2022)Dwayne Johnson will portray the title character of Black Adam in his second of two future DC Comics superhero movies scheduled for a 2022 release, a role he was supposed to debut as in a Shazam! film some years ago before many things changed behind the scenes. In January 2017, it was stated that there was a new plan in the works to have the strong anti-hero from Kahndaq star in his own film, which would now be released in theatres on October 21, 2022.The film was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra of Jungle Cruise and featured other members of the Justice Society of America, including Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate and others. The Red One (2023)Dwayne Johnson will appear in Red One, a 2023 Netflix original film, which has no obvious link to his 2021 Netflix original film Red Notice. According to Deadline, the Amazon Studios original will be a globe-trotting action-comedy that will match the actor with a Marvel movie star (Chris Evans in this case) and will be set around the holiday season.Jake Kasdan, the director of Johnson’s Jumanji films, is directing the project, which was written by Chris Morgan (renowned for penning several Fast and Furious films) from a story by Johnson’s producing partner, Hiram Garcia.
