Timothy Olyphant Gives Fans ‘Justified’ Revival Update – OutKick – Elite News

The revival of “Justified” is getting closer to hitting television screens across America.

FX surprised fans in early 2022 when it was announced that Timothy Olyphant would return for the “Justified: City Primeval” revival miniseries. Naturally, people were excited, and fans now have more good news.

During a recent interview with Seth Meyers, the man famous for playing Raylan Givens revealed that filming for “Justified: City Primeval” has wrapped, according to BleedingCool.com.

While there is no set release date, the revival is expected to drop sometime in 2023 on FX.

“Justified” is one of the best television shows ever made.

For six incredible seasons, millions of fans were treated to Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens and Walton Goggins as Boyd Crowder. You had a bad and the law. The other, a moral compass (or lack thereof) and a code.

The dichotomy between the two rivals is perhaps the greatest in television history. Were they really that different? It’s a question fans debated from 2010 to 2015. As Boyd alluded to in season four, Raylan’s badge might have made him think he was a lot cleaner than he really was.

When the show ended in epic fashion in 2015, it felt like the world of television had been dealt a major blow. That’s why people couldn’t believe it when it was announced that “Justified” would be returning for a new limited series.

The plot of the miniseries is as follows, according to WideOpenCountry.com:

Eight years after Sheriff Raylan Givens left Kentucky, he lives in Miami, where he still works as a sheriff and balances life with his 14-year-old daughter, Willa. A chance encounter leads him to a man named Clement Mansell on a Florida highway, also known as The Oklahoma Wildman. Mansell is a violent sociopath who has evaded capture in Detroit, leading Givens to Detroit himself to help with the case. The series is based on City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit by Elmore Leonard, a new chapter for the gunslinger as the original series follows a different novel by Elmore Leonard.

Will Walton Goggins be in the new miniseries?

The last time fans saw Goggins playing Boyd Crowder, he was in prison and found out that the love of his life, Ava Crowder, had died. Of course, this wasn’t true and Raylan just did it to give her a sense of peace.

So will Goggins return as Crowder in the revival? Unfortunately, it looks like that’s not going to happen. There hasn’t been any news about his involvement, and it wouldn’t make much sense given how the show ended.

It’s a shame because he was riveted on screen as the Harlan County outlaw. Maybe FX is keeping Goggins’ look a secret, but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting.

Even though Walton Goggins didn’t reprise his role, there’s still a lot to be excited about. Filming is complete, which means post-production is underway.

If I had to make a very educated guess, I’d say that FX is targeting a March release. Let’s hope it happens sooner, but March seems realistic.

More than anything, I can’t wait to see Timothy Olyphant, again, as the character of gunslinger Raylan Givens. It’s been a long time since we last saw Raylan dishing out justice.
