Trevor Noah doesn’t have any “beef” with Kanye West.
Speaking to an audience member who had asked him about the alleged feud between them, the host of “The Daily Show” asked, “Why am I fighting with Kanye? That’s an interesting way to put it because a steak has to go both ways.”
He continued in the video posted on the show’s official TikTok account: “He really does. In my limited understanding of the world, feuding has always been something that usually happens between two hip-hop artists. I never had a fight with Kanye West. I was worried about Kanye West.”
Noah, 38, actually condemned those around the 45-year-old rapper-turned-designer for failing to acknowledge that he could potentially be in the midst of a mental health bout.
“If someone tells me that they have a mental health problem, and they tell everyone that when they don’t take their medication they can’t control themselves, and then everyone ignores when that person is having an episode and they didn’t take the medication, and then platform to the person and they put it… Sometimes I think it’s a little s–tty, to be honest with you,” he said.
He also addressed those who gave him a platform to “go say anything,” noting, “What I have a problem with is that we as a society don’t rally around the person and say, ‘Hey, maybe Maybe this isn’t the time to put a microphone in your face so you can just walk away saying everything.’”
Noah told his audience that he actually “grew up loving this man.”
“I still love him despite the shit he says,” she added, describing knowing Ye can be “a jerk” but also worrying that he might do something to hurt himself.
“But I made a promise to myself that I will never be the person who just sits back and gleefully says things about people I care about and then also joins the mourning group and acts like I’m not part of it,” he said. he concluded.
“Too many people like to cry for you when you’re dead, and they don’t say anything to you when you’re alive. So I don’t know where to end. But that’s it.”
The audience member’s question came after Ye called Noah a racial slur for defending his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, in March.
“What [Kardashian is] passing is terrifying to watch, and highlights what so many women go through when they choose to walk away,” Noah said on “The Daily Show.”
“What we’re seeing is one of the most powerful women, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing her, to stop harassing her.”
Ye responded by sharing a screenshot of a Google search result, which describes Noah as a “South African comedian,” in a now-deleted Instagram post.
“All together now… K–n berry my lord k–n berry K–n berry my lord K–n berry Oooo’ lord K–n berry,” he wrote.
Noah then responded by saying that it broke his heart to see him “like this.”
Recently, people have been trying to write West off after he went on a tirade on social media, saying he was going to “do a 3 death scam against the Jewish people.”
He even told Piers Morgan in an interview that he was “absolutely not” sorry for his comments. An angry Morgan told him, “You should be.”
Ye has since been dropped by a variety of brands, including Balenciaga, Gap, Vogue and JP Morgan.
